Global superstar Rita Ora has modelled Genoa's 130-year anniversary shirt in an unexpected football and celebrity link-up.

On Wednesday the British singer posted a photo on her Instagram story modelling Genoa's 130th anniversary shirt. The historic Serie A club will wear the gold kit in their clash with Inter Milan on Friday evening.

In a statement, Genoa CEO Andrez Blazquez said: "Genoa CFC is a historic club, with a cosmopolitan origin and reality. Since the new ownership took over the club, we want to further highlight the powerful Genoa brand and engage with influencers and celebrities who love football and identify with our brand values and history. We believe this is a great way to expose Genoa CFC to new audiences around the world."

Genoa unveiled the commemorative shirt design in September. When they take to the field in it on Friday they will do so 13th place in the table, 25 points behind Serie A leaders Inter.

Genoa will follow up their clash with Inter with a tough trip to high-flying Bologna on January 5. After that, they'll look to take maximum points from winnable looking fixtures against Torino, Salernitana, Lecce and Empoli.
